Defeat of US Call Centre Worker & Protection Act Leads to Further BPO in PH

BPO, which is an acronym for Business Process Outsourcing, is one of the strongest, if not the strongest itself, key employment generators in the Philippines. Moreover, experts predict that if there are no declining changes in the trend, BPO in the Philippines will soon become even more robust in the next coming years.

Majority of today’s huge companies in the US have opted to outsource different kinds of skills, usually SEO-related, from other overseas nations, such as the Philippines. In fact, experts have noticed a huge increase in the number of SEO projects the US has for this aforementioned Asian country.

Although outsourcing overseas could be highly cost-effective for the company, this is not very good news for the US employment rate. In fact, the US has just released a US House Resolution 3696, which is otherwise referred to as the “United States Call Centre Worker and Protection Act”. This prohibits different US companies from establishing call centres and SEO skills centres in the Philippines.

However, and much to the delight of overseas countries that the US usually outsources from, this act did not win the Senate’s heart. This further means that more and more BPO companies can expand their businesses, with whatever services they have to offer, in the Philippines.
